i remember when i brought you in half dead looking for them and you said you didn't tell them so you should and you should spend as much time with the people you really
[ she just kind of watches those all come in but like she's already in the middle of a panic attack so really it can't get much worse. better now than later. It's fine, anyway-- she knows her importance, in the grand scheme of things, is objectively lower in the rankings-- whether it's Dan Feng or Sett. She's not going to fight that.
At length, she just texts him back with: ]
he left i wiont stay long. not doing anything Sorry
[Since Dan Feng has had any scrap of emotional intelligence put into a mara blender, he literally just ends the call. He's on his way back to the Gluttony cabin, but it will take him about thirty minutes to get there.]
[ she figures he's going to do something stupid, probably. Or come back and yell at her, or something to that effect-- she doesn't have the thought process to think about this logically, really. Her head is so full of thoughts she can't breath.
So when Dan Feng does return home and come through the door it's soon enough that she's startled by it-- and she scrambles up, skirting around him so she can quickly leave without getting in his way.
(There IS one of her scarves on the bed, as well.) ]
[He's going to clothesline her by the shoulders (via arm) and by the knees (via tail), and immediately bend down to try and pick her up with his arms around her waist, over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.]
[Tossing her into his recently-upgraded, massive bed which he had assumed would contain some sort of amorous germs but only has, like he'd asked, one of Val's scarves.]
[ the dirt is-- weird. Out of place. She watches him remove his shoes with unblinking focus, confused.
... why is there dirt? Why are his shoes on? He wore his shoes inside? Why? In the bed? Why? How? He must have run back. Came inside quickly. Why would he do that? He never does that.
The insult doesn't even parse, as she slowly looks back up to his face as he turns back to her. ]
[He stills, staring at her for a moment, before turning away, giving her his back, and - and - focusing on his shoes damn it. He didn't even notice, on autopilot until he physically saw her, because she sounded so distraught and small and Dan Feng disliked not being the cause of it. That was all. Wasn't it.]
[ a beat, as her breathing slowly evened out, even if her heart still fluttered like a nervous bird. He told her too leave. Now he wants her to stay? Ah.

I-- we talked and then-- Aphelios--
[ stops, aware she's not making much sense and tries to take a breath to steady herself with mixed success. ]
I can't. Stop him from wanting to look. If he didn't believe me-- he had to. It's fine. I'm fine!

He'll be back soon. I checked the morgue, he will have gone to the graveyard. [Dan Feng turns to her, clicks his tongue.] You're useless. Stay here.
