Yes
I cannot speak for the moment however but it's preferable to permanent monster maiming by a significant margin

Our local lake monster was not a cause for concern.
Most of my targets were more naturally sized, in any case.

Fighting was not on the agenda. I hunted.
Monsters, mostly. Spirits, apparitions. Anything that harmed humans and did not belong.
